The head of Polish government said the plant will generate enough electricity to power 12 million households, underlining the scale and significance of the project.

Tusk described the facility as “one of the most important sites for Poland’s future,” noting that while its location had sparked controversy, changing it would have caused further delays.

Northern Poland poised for major offshore wind expansion

“We have decided to make major investments in roads and railways so that residents and those involved in the construction can feel the benefits,” the politician said.

The government leader also highlighted the strategic importance of northern Poland, noting that some of the largest offshore wind farms in this part of Europe will be built in the Baltic Sea near the nuclear plant.

Poland set on path to dynamic growth, says PM Tusk

According to the prime minister, the construction of the nuclear power plant “perfectly reflects the scale of change” that has taken place in Poland since the 15 October 2023 elections.

In his opinion, the country is now on a path toward dynamic economic development thanks to current government decisions.
