According to Polskie Radio, Prime Minister Donald Tusk explained that ongoing analyses are close to completion and indicate Bełchatów as the most suitable site for a potential second nuclear facility.
The statement was made during an event marking the second anniversary of the parliamentary elections that brought his coalition to power.
Tusk also highlighted progress on renewable energy projects in northern Poland, including major offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea, and said electricity prices are expected to stabilise next year without government intervention.
The prime minister added that the government’s key infrastructure initiatives - such as the Central Communication Port and the first nuclear power plant - will prioritise Polish companies as contractors.
