Around 4,000 exhibitors from across the world are taking part this year, including 10 from Poland. Most represent the cosmetics and jewellery industries, with amber products - long admired in China - among the highlights.

While Polish exports to China have risen slightly this year, the trade imbalance remains significant.

Last year, Poland exported goods worth around USD 3.5 billion to China, compared with imports of Chinese products valued at USD 55 billion - more than 15 times as much, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Natural resources, mainly copper, make up about one-sixth of Poland's exports to China, followed by electrical machinery and energy-generation equipment.

From China, Poland imports primarily electrical machines, devices and consumer electronics, including smartphones, tablets and laptops worth almost USD 8 billion last year.
