There were around 934,800 people without jobs across the nation at the end of January, up from 888,600 a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had inched up to 5.7 percent in December, from 5.6 percent in November.
Meanwhile, the European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated last month that unemployment in Poland had stood at 3.2 percent in December and was among the lowest in the 27-nation bloc.
