Polish startup shines at HealthTech Global Summit 2026

Poland's Cogniguard PL startup, founded by the scientists' behind the Alzheimer's revolutionary treatment tool Vguard, defeated over 150 rivals from around the world and reached the finals of the prestigious HealthTech Global Summit 2026 competition in Basel, Switzerland.

In late 2025, a research group in Poland's Łódź unveiled a noninvasive device named Vguard, aiming to reverse Alzheimer’s disease symptoms.

This elastic headband with electrodes, managed by a mobile app and protected by five global patents, stimulates the patient's vagus nerve during REM phase in sleep.

The Vguard initial clinical trials results were clear - they showed early signs of improving memory and daily functioning in people touched by the condition in question.

Now, in March 2026, the Cogniguard PL startup founded by the Polish scientists' behind the invention presented Vguard during the prestigious HealthTech Global Summit in Switzerland's Basel. The event attracted over 6,000 participants and representatives of 500 venture capital funds, serving as an important meeting point for science and medical business.

The Cogniguard PL team participated in the contest part of the event, where they defeated over 150 rivals from around the world and reached the very final of the competition, becoming one of top 3 inventions singled out - and Poland's sole representative that progressed to this stage.
