Government spokesman Adam Szłapka said last week that no decision had been made to appoint a new government representative for the promotion of Poland's national brand.
"For now, there is nothing to indicate that there will be one," Szłapka told broadcaster TVP Info on August 26 when asked whether the post would continue.
"We’ll see what happens later," he added.
He said the government would continue to promote Poland abroad, with responsibility remaining divided among the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.
In late July, Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed Mróz-Gorgoń as the government's commissioner for promoting Poland's national brand, saying she would coordinate efforts to enhance the country's international image and attract more tourists and investors.
Mróz-Gorgoń resigned less than a month later after a 2025 report she compiled came under scrutiny for factual errors and apparent signs of use of artificial intelligence in its writing.
She acknowledged that AI tools had been used in preparing the report, but maintained that the research itself followed social science methodology and had been conducted properly and "without taking shortcuts."
The Wrocław University of Economics and Business, where Mróz-Gorgoń is a professor in southwestern Poland, is also examining the matter.
