Compared with July, the rate held steady in 11 regions, while five saw a 0.1 percentage point rise.

By the end of August, 911,000 people were registered as unemployed at labour offices – nearly 5,000 more than in July.

The ministry also noted that under Eurostat methodology, Poland's unemployment rate stood at 3.4 percent in July – the second-lowest in the EU after the Czech Republic, at 3.3 percent.
