Doctors at Kraków University Hospital in southern Poland kept the mother alive for 56 days while they waited for the baby to grow in her womb, private broadcaster TVN reported on Tuesday.
The mother was taken to hospital 21 weeks into the pregnancy. According to TVN, doctors knew she would not survive.
The girl was born by Caesarean section weighing just 1.25kg. She was recently allowed home.
