Eight in 10 say they have experienced back pain at some stage, specialists warned on Wednesday, when World Spine Day was marked.

Experts say back problems are aggravated by a lack of exercise and obesity, according to public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.

But studies have shown that only 28 percent of Poles regularly take part in sports activities, far less than in many other EU countries, state news agency PAP reported.

Specialists stress that sleeping on a comfortable mattress is essential to take care of your back.

They advise people not to sit for hours in one position and to take breaks away from their desk at work.
