Poland’s Deputy Justice Minister Michał Wójcik has promised to provide assistance after the Polish woman sounded the alarm that her son could be adopted by a same-sex couple in the UK, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

It quoted Wójcik as saying: "We will take all steps to ensure that this child, if it must be put up for adoption, is adopted by a woman and a man.”

According to the wp.pl news website, a British court has ruled on the adoption of the woman’s son after the boy’s father, a British citizen, accepted such a scenario.

The Polish woman has learned from social workers dealing with adoption that her child is set to be adopted by a "pair of homosexuals," the wp.pl website said.

The woman protested, saying she wanted her son to be “raised by a mom and dad, and not by two fathers," wp.pl reported.

It added the woman has voiced her opposition to social workers in the UK and also asked a Polish consul in Britain for help.

According to wp.pl, the woman lost custody after she left her son in the care of her 13-year-old daughter and the boy burned himself with a hot dish in the mother's absence.

The woman has also struggled with depression and suffers from epilepsy, wp.pl reported.
