The survey by pollster CBOS found that only 10 percent of Poles described 2019 as a bad year for them personally. Six percent said the year was bad for their families.

These responses make 2019 the best year since 1989 in terms of how Polish people feel about an outgoing year, the pollster said.

At the same time, 51 percent of respondents said that 2019 was a good year for the country as a whole, while 17 percent said otherwise, with 27 percent neutral and the remainder having no opinion.

The survey was carried out from November 28 to December 5 on a representative random sample of 910 Polish adults.
