These temporary quarters are expected to be used by refugees in Syria’s Idlib province and in Greek centers for migrants, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.

Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński told a news conference on Tuesday that providing humanitarian aid in this form was part of efforts to “help those in immediate need.”

"That is why we have decided to … support the creation of a safe shelter for people who, due to armed conflicts and dangers in their countries of origin, have been forced to flee their places of residence,” he told reporters.

The project, coordinated by the government-financed Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM), aims to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic “and counteract the root causes of migration,” the Polish foreign ministry also said.
