A database containing over a million archival documents is being launched along with an international online conference held by the Pilecki Institute, a major Polish research centre.
“To study all relevant documents, [Polish] historians … would need to travel to New York to search in the United Nations Archives, if we did not transfer them over here. Our database is thus becoming a knowledge hub and a major research site for the history of World War II in Poland,” the Institute’s Tomasz Stefanek said.
