The day was established 20 years ago in Paris during the World Summit Against Cancer.
"All Polish cancer patients will have a ‘coordinator’ who will guide them through the process of diagnosis, treatment and post-cancer rehabilitation. We have decided that this will be an integral part of post-cancer treatment," Poland’s health minister, Adam Niedzielski, said at conference at an oncology centre in Kielce, south-eastern Poland.
He added that a bill on cancer treatment should be ready by the end of March, and the new system should be operational from 2022.
