Nearly 7 million COVID-19 shots administered in Poland: gov't data

A total of 6,999,652 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including 201,254 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Thursday.

Public health authorities said that 5,695 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 7,769 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Thursday, Poland had injected over 4.9 million first doses, while nearly 2.1 million people have received a second shot, health ministry data showed.

Poland on Thursday reported 27,887 fresh COVID-19 infections and a record 954 new deaths linked to the coronavirus.

A total of 2,499,507 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Poland since the pandemic began, and 56,659 have died in connection with the COVID-19 respiratory disease so far, public health officials announced.
