Nearly 7.7 million COVID-19 shots administered in Poland: gov't data

A total of 7,687,617 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including 42,497 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Monday.

Public health authorities said that 5,908 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Monday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 8,701 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Monday, Poland had injected over 5.58 million first doses, while more than 2.1 million people have received a second shot, health ministry data showed.

Poland on Monday reported 12,013 new coronavirus infections and 61 more deaths, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,586,647 and fatalities to 58,481.
