Nearly 7.8 million COVID-19 shots administered in Poland: gov't data

A total of 7,784,384 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including 100,336 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Tuesday.

Public health authorities said that 5,929 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 8,796 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Tuesday, Poland had injected over 5.67 million first doses, while more than 2.1 million people have received a second shot, health ministry data showed.

Poland on Tuesday reported 13,227 new coronavirus infections and 644 more deaths, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,599,850 and fatalities to 59,126.
