Over 14.7 million COVID-19 shots administered in Poland: gov't data

A total of 14,705,512 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including 410,975 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Thursday.

Public health authorities said that 8,045 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 13,495 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Thursday, Poland had injected over 10.86 million first doses of COVID-19 vaccines, while more than 4 million people had been fully inoculated, health ministry data showed.

The tally includes two-dose vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca as well as Johnson & Johnson's one-shot vaccine.

Poland on Thursday reported 3,730 new coronavirus infections and 342 more deaths, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,845,762 and fatalities to 71,021.
