Appearing before reporters, Mateusz Morawiecki addressed anti-vaxxers, saying that "hopefully, ladies and gentlemen, you won't have to experience the risk that COVID-19 represents in hospitals; hopefully it won't come to that."
“However,” Morawiecki added, “let us keep in mind the basic nature of the virus … namely that it transmits from one human being to another."
An unvaccinated person may infect someone else and "eventually create dramatic circumstances for other people," the prime minister said.
"And so let us at least stop waging campaigns of fake news, campaigns of aggression like the one we saw in Grodzisk Mazowiecki," Morawiecki urged the jab-hesitant.
"These are utterly unacceptable actions, and we are going to counteract them firmly,” he also said.
"We will also counteract the whole disinformation effort," he declared.
Last Sunday, a group of anti-vaccine protesters attacked an inoculation centre in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, central Poland, drawing warnings of "zero tolerance" from government officials.
