Nearly 17.5 million Poles fully vaccinated for COVID-19: gov't data

A total of 34,463,736 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including 29,936 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Monday.

Public health authorities said that 13,862 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Monday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 161,555 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Monday, Poland had injected more than 18.3 million first doses of COVID-19 vaccines, while nearly 17.5 million people had been fully inoculated, health ministry data showed.

The tally includes two-dose vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca as well as Johnson & Johnson's one-shot vaccine.

Poland on Monday reported 74 new coronavirus infections and no new deaths related to COVID-19. The latest infections bring the country’s total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,883,120, while the death toll stands at 75,261.
