Poles to spend 11% less on Christmas this year: study

Poles plan to spend 11 percent less on Christmas this year than last, according to a survey.

The study by the Quality Watch company found that the average Polish family plans to fork out PLN 1,142 (EUR 250, USD 280) on gifts, food and other expenses this Christmas.

Respondents said they would spend more on gifts than on food during the festive season, PLN 451 vs. PLN 386 on average, state news agency PAP reported.

The survey, commissioned by debt data provider BIG InfoMonitor, was carried out from December 11 to 13 on a sample of about 1,033 adult respondents.
