Deaths, injuries as windstorms hit Poland

Seven people have been reported dead and dozens injured after strong winds swept through Poland over the weekend, snapping trees, ripping off roofs and damaging cars and other property.

“The winds will keep blowing, with gusts of up to 70-80 kph,” said Karol Kierzkowski, spokesman for the State Fire Service.

"Let’s stay away from trees and any light collapsible structures that could fall over and hurt us," he added.
