While casting his line on the Raba River near Gdów in southern Poland, Tomasz stumbled upon a colossal bone that he quickly realized was no ordinary catch. Suspecting it to be a dinosaur or mammoth bone, he promptly alerted the authorities.

The area was secured by the local police, and the remarkable find was confirmed on Tuesday by Edyta Tojańska-Urbanik, an official from the Gdów municipality office, in an interview with Radio Kraków.

"What is likely to be a mammoth bone was found yesterday in the area of one of the villages in the Gdów municipality," she revealed, as quoted by the broadcaster.

Following consultations with the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, experts have devised a plan to secure and study the bones, with research on this extraordinary discovery set to begin soon.
