The high-speed crash occurred early Thursday morning about 50 kilometers southeast of Warsaw.
According to local police, a Jaguar traveling at high speed veered off the road for unknown reasons and struck a roadside tree.
Both the driver and passenger died at the scene of whom one was identified as a Norwegian citizen.
On Friday, Rana Blad confirmed that one of the victims was 42-year-old seafood industry tycoon Håkon Vigner Lindal Olaisen.
He was a co-owner of Nova Sea, a leading salmon farming and processing company founded by his father in 1972. The company operates more than 30 fish farms in northern Norway.
With a personal fortune estimated at over EUR 46 million, Olaisen ranked among the 400 wealthiest people in Norway.
As Poland has eased into low gear since Thursday due to residents taking advantage of warm weather and a string of national holidays, Police launched their annual road safety campaign on Wednesday as vacationers began their journeys, stepping up roadside checks and urging drivers to slow down and stay alert.
During last year’s May holiday period, 34 people were killed and 460 injured in 401 road accidents, according to police data.
