Mokotów district prosecutors opened separate cases for content posted on Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and the forum of news portal Onet, spokesman Piotr Antoni Skiba told the Polish Press Agency (PAP).
Skiba said “the scale is enormous”, noting that almost 200 of the reports came from the Ombudsman for Children, while others were filed by private individuals and the child’s mother, Marta Nawrocka.
The inquiries focus on public insult under Article 216 of the penal code. Investigators will also assess whether the posts constitute criminal threats (Article 190) or incitement to commit an offense (Article 260), Skiba added.
“Some entries do not meet those criteria; the rest are being analyzed, and new reports keep arriving,” he said.
On Friday, Law and Justice (PiS) lawmaker Krzysztof Szczucki published a letter from the Mokotów prosecutor’s office confirming it had begun a probe following his complaint. “I’ll make sure every hater is severely punished,” he wrote on social media.
Interest in Nawrocki’s daughter, Kasia, surged during the election-night celebration, where the lively child blew kisses, formed heart signs and danced. While many viewers found her endearing, others posted hostile comments, prompting Nawrocka to warn online that “words can hurt”.
