Zofia and Nikodem top list of most popular baby names in Poland

Zofia was the most popular name given to baby girls in Poland in the first half of 2025, while Nikodem topped the list for boys, the Ministry of Digital Affairs has announced.

Trailing Zofia among girls were Maja and Zuzanna, while Antoni and Jan rounded out the top three for boys.

Other popular names for girls in the first six months of the year included Laura, Hanna, Julia, Oliwia, Pola, Alicja and Amelia.

Amelia was the only new addition to the top 10.

Among boys, the names Aleksander, Leon, Franciszek, Ignacy, Stanisław, Jakub and Mikołaj also remained in the top 10, with little change in order compared to previous rankings.

In 2024, Maja was the most popular name for girls, with Zofia close behind.

Nikodem, Antoni and Jan also led the list for boys last year.
