The average life expectancy for men rose by 0.3 years to 74.9 in 2024, while for women it increased by the same percentage to 82.3.

Compared with 1990, the average lifespan has risen by 8.7 years for men and 7 years for women, according to the state-run statistics agency.

As in most European countries, mortality among Polish men remains higher than among women across most age groups.

However, data show that the life expectancy gap between the sexes has narrowed in recent years.
