Some provinces in Poland are having trouble reaching the 112 emergency line, with disruptions varying by mobile operator, the Interior Ministry (MSWiA) said Tuesday after a union reported difficulties. Callers were advised to use 999 instead.

The trade union representing emergency number operators said the first report of problems reaching 112 and 999 arrived after 8 a.m., and that users of some mobile networks were unable to place calls.

MSWiA spokesperson Karolina Gałecka said certain provinces had reported difficulty reaching 112 depending on the mobile carrier.

“We are determining what is causing the fault,” she told state news agency PAP.

Gałecka added that people needing help should call 999.

“I have no information that the 999 number cannot be used to report emergencies,” she said.
