The suspect, identified as Krzysztof B., was taken into custody on Monday morning in the Łosice district of eastern Poland. Authorities said he is under investigation for attempted arson and making criminal threats.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon outside Civic Platform’s headquarters on Wiejska Street, near Poland’s parliament building.

Witnesses reported that a man threw a Molotov cocktail at the office entrance. He shouted anti-government slogans before fleeing the scene.

Police said the device failed to ignite, and a bystander from a nearby café intervened, preventing it from catching fire. No one was injured.

Police officers described the swift arrest as the result of “intensive operational work and detailed analysis of other incidents.”

Investigators said the suspect had previously been detained earlier in May for allegedly posting death threats against Prime Minister Tusk on the social media platform X. That case was referred to court in June and remains ongoing.
