Over the weekend, Warsaw’s streets were covered in a layer of snow, leading to noticeably more hazardous travel across the city.

Warsaw’s mayor, Rafał Trzaskowski, said on Monday that “the City Cleaning Authority has launched full winter road operations, with 42 snowploughs and gritters clearing viaducts, bridges, ramps and major routes.”

Forecasts warn that from Monday evening into Tuesday morning the city may see rain, sleet or drizzle that could freeze on contact, creating icy surfaces.

“I urge everyone to exercise extra caution,” the politician added.
