Inside the vehicle were three men, including a 34-year-old man who had been abducted and was being transported in the trunk.

The kidnapped man died after being taken to hospital despite medical efforts.

The other two men were also hospitalised but their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police confirmed that both the victim and the suspects are Polish citizens.

The crash occurred during a police pursuit following a report of a possible kidnapping just after midnight.

Authorities located the suspects’ vehicle around 4 a.m., but the driver failed to stop and ran a red light, colliding with the tram.

There were no passengers on the tram and no one else was injured.

Police are investigating the kidnapping, and an autopsy will determine the cause of the 34-year-old’s death.

Officials suspect he may have been assaulted before being placed in the trunk.
