His case has drawn public attention in part because of his past meetings with Poland’s president, Karol Nawrocki.
Patryk M. returned to Poland after being extradited from Germany, where he had been intercepted at Hamburg airport attempting to flee to the United Arab Emirates.
Prosecutors have charged him with involvement in an organised crime group operating in northern Poland, the Netherlands, and Spain, accused of trafficking large quantities of drugs including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, and ecstasy.
He also faces allegations of car theft, fraud, and using drug sales as a source of income. Authorities said he could influence other members of the criminal group, which influenced the court’s decision to deny bail.
In the past, Patryk M. successfully evaded law enforcement abroad despite outstanding arrest warrants and a European Arrest Warrant issued against him.
The suspect faces up to 20 years in prison. The court denied a bail request of 500,000 PLN (approximately €118,138).
Patryk M.'s past ties to President Nawrocki spark controversy
“Wielki Bu” is known for participating in underground MMA events, and his prior encounters with President Nawrocki - including photos together published online - stirred political debate during the presidential campaign.
Nawrocki stated he met Patryk M. years ago in a sporting context and is not responsible for his activities outside the ring.
