The appeal, published by the Panoptykon Foundation, comes as the Digital Services Act (DSA) awaits the signature of President Karol Nawrocki.

Experts warn that delaying or blocking the implementation of the EU-wide regulation would leave children exposed to unsafe content, addictive algorithms, and mental health risks on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Signatories include psychologists, social scientists, and technology specialists who highlight that even children as young as six are encountering violent, sexual, or self-harm material online.

The DSA requires platforms to enforce their own rules, restrict access for under-13s, and prevent manipulative targeted advertising to minors.

The law also empowers national authorities and citizens to hold platforms accountable, a mechanism already in use in countries such as France, Italy, Estonia, and Slovakia.

Panoptykon’s campaign calls for swift action, urging that full implementation of the DSA is essential to protect children and strengthen parental oversight in the digital environment.
