Polish lawmakers vote to ban tethering dogs
Poland's lower house of parliament has passed a bill introducing a nationwide ban on tethering dogs and cats, sending the measure to the Senate, the upper house, for further consideration.

The vote marks lawmakers' second attempt to enact the legislation after a previous version was vetoed by President Karol Nawrocki over kennel size standards.
Under the new regulations, owners can use pens that meet specific animal welfare criteria and must adapt to the rules within a one-year transition period.
