The gold medallists are Artur Smolenski, who earned the highest score of 535 points, and Krzysztof Witkowski, who shared fifth place with two other entrants, with 430 points.
Both attend the Stanisław Staszic High School in Warsaw, which has a long record in high-level math and computer science training.
Franciszek Szymula from Kraków, who came 11th in the overall classification, won the silver medal, while Stanisław Lada, the fourth member of the Polish team, earned 240 points, two points short of the bronze medal limit.
Fifty- nine exceptionally talented teenage programmers from 15 countries participated in the event.
One of the most important competitions of its kind, the Central European Olympiad in Informatics will be held next year in Poznań, western Poland.
