The operation was carried out by officers from Poland’s Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP), the Polish Border Guard and the Czech National Drug Headquarters.
Investigators said the gang, whose members were drawn from Polish and Czech soccer hooligan groups, had been operating since at least March 2024.
Authorities seized large quantities of narcotics and anabolic steroids and dismantled an illegal laboratory producing clephedrone, a synthetic stimulant, in Belgium, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Police said they confiscated about 167 kilograms of the finished drug, with an estimated street value of nearly PLN 1.2 million (around EUR 280,000, USD 320,000).
The total value of the drugs and steroids distributed by the group was estimated at no less than PLN 3 million, police said.
Eleven suspects have been arrested in Poland so far, with a court ordering nine of them to remain in pre-trial detention.
The suspects have been charged with participating in an organized criminal group, drug production and trafficking, and money laundering. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison.
