Rating Group, a Ukrainian polling organisation, found that 51% of refugees in Poland intend to go back to Ukraine.
"The majority are putting off that decision until the war ends", the group said.
Only 8% said they were prepared to return in the near term. Another 43% said they would wait until the fighting stops.
Roughly a quarter of those surveyed, 26%, said they had no plans to go back.
Security and stability were the top factors cited by respondents, with 71% naming them as key to a return.
Rating Group polled 1,000 Ukrainians who fled to Poland because of the war. The online survey was carried out from 21 to 25 August.
