Polish military plane sent to bring seriously ill man home from Philippines

Poland’s Defence Ministry is organising the return of Piotr Moczulski, who has been ill in a hospital in Cebu City for two years after suffering serious injuries in a scooter accident.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on social media that a Polish military aircraft carrying a medical evacuation team is already on its way to bring him home. 

“We will soon welcome Mr Piotr back home,” Kosiniak-Kamysz posted on X.

Moczulski has been in hospital in Cebu City, the Philippines, for two years following the accident. 

He has multiple internal injuries and brain swelling. He breathes through a tracheostomy tube and is fed through a feeding tube. 

Because of his serious condition, he cannot travel on a regular commercial flight.
