About 37% of respondents said Trump’s policies “definitely” did not serve Poland and a further 29.6% said “rather not”. The remaining 14.1% were undecided.
Views split sharply along political lines. Among voters for the governing parties, 87.2% took a negative view and only 4.5% a positive one. Opposition supporters were more divided, with 49% negative and 36.3% positive.
Voters who backed Nawrocki in last year’s first-round presidential vote were the most favourable, with 45.8% saying Trump’s policies served Poland and 37.2% saying they did not. Among those who voted for far-right candidate Grzegorz Braun, 53.1% said they did and 46.9% said they did not.
Majorities of voters for Rafał Trzaskowski and Sławomir Mentzen, who finished behind Nawrocki, took a negative view, at 82.6% and 85.1% respectively.
Rzeczpospolita said the poll also showed that higher education levels were linked to a poorer assessment of Trump.
“The greatest support for his policy was recorded among people aged 60-69, and the lowest among the youngest”, the newspaper said.
