Rafał Trzaskowski said the structure would connect the two banks of the Vistula River and would be almost 500 metres long.

Construction is scheduled to begin this autumn and will take two to three years, public broadcaster Polish Radio reported.

It added that the bridge would cost around PLN 180 million (EUR 39m, USD 47m).

The structure will stretch from the vicinity of Karowa Street on the left bank of the river to the area where Okrzei Street starts on the right bank.
