Pollster CBOS, which conducted the study, said the level of anxiety about COVID-19 rose in proportion to the age of the people who took part in the survey.
Seven in ten of respondents aged 65 and over are afraid of being infected, according to CBOS.
The figure dropped to less than one in three among people aged under 24.
The study was carried out between May 6 and 16, asking 1,163 Polish adults about their concerns.
Officials on Friday reported 1,679 new COVID infections in Poland, down from a high of 35,251 single-day cases on April 1.
As of Friday, around 12.37 million first doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered out in Poland, while more than 5.2 million people had been fully inoculated, according to the health ministry.
