Nearly 100,000 people took to trails in the Tatra National Park between Thursday and Saturday, park authorities said.

Last year, 72,000 visitors descended on the Tatras during a long weekend in June, while the figure for the same period in 2019 was 50,000, public broadcaster Polish Radio reported.

With Thursday, June 3, a public holiday, many Poles took the Friday off to enjoy a long weekend amid an easing of coronavirus restrictions and a sustained drop in infections.
