During a Mother’s Day event in Warsaw on Monday, Kidawa-Błońska met with mothers, daughters, activists and academics to discuss the challenges women face and the importance of political participation.

She encouraged women to show up at the ballot box on June 1 and “choose a new future for our country,” one in which their children can thrive.

Speakers at the event highlighted the emotional toll of juggling motherhood, careers and public expectations, stressing that political decisions directly affect women’s lives.

Calling for action over apathy, prominent journalist Małgorzata Niezabitowska - who served as government spokeswoman under Poland's first noncommunist Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki from 1989 to 1991 - urged women to vote “wisely” and judge candidates by their actions, not their promises.

Poland’s presidential runoff on Sunday will pit pro-EU Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski  against right-wing populist Karol Nawrocki, who is backed by the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party.
