The crash occurred on 29 July during a tourist trip near the Red Sea resort town of Marsa Alam, located in southeastern Egypt. The group had been en route to the coastal town of Hamata when their vehicle overturned.
The accident claimed the lives of three people: a 41-year-old Polish woman and her young son, as well as a 45-year-old Egyptian national. Three other Polish citizens were injured: a 37-year-old woman and two men aged 40 and 44, according to Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The woman has been identified as Dr Anita Samek-Krymkowska, a gynaecologist and specialist in obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility. She worked at the Municipal Hospital in Olsztyn.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of our colleague, Dr Anita Samek-Krymkowska, and her 7-year-old son,” read a statement published by the hospital on social media.
Hospital staff described her as a devoted mother of two, a loving wife, and a valued colleague.
“Always ready to help others, engaged and dedicated to her work. We share in the grief of her family and loved ones and extend our heartfelt condolences,” the statement added. “Anita - the void you leave behind can never be filled.”

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. Poland’s consul in Egypt is overseeing the case, confirmed Foreign Ministry spokesperson Paweł Wroński during a recent press briefing.
