Antoni, speaking to local broadcaster Łuków.TV, said he had been watching television late at night when he suddenly heard a strange noise overhead.
“It sounded like a broken car flying above the house. Then there was a bang, and the windows in my son’s place shattered,” he recalled.
The blast blew out windows in Antoni’s son’s newly purchased house near the cornfield. He said police arrived around midnight, and by morning investigators had used drones to locate the crash site.
The explosion has unsettled local residents, with many describing the noise as frightening.

Local media reported that nearby security cameras captured the incident, and the crater left in the cornfield measures roughly 8 to 10 meters across.

Local eastern Polish daily Dziennik Wschodni reports that a military helicopter is patrolling the area around Osiny. Another resident, Wojciech, described the incident: “It was such a shock. There was a huge bang, and then it started to smell like sulfur. The explosion happened about a kilometer from our house, but the noise was massive. My wife woke up terrified, and my daughter jumped out of bed. We thought it was a war or something.”
