According to the Central Examination Board, 90.4 percent of students finishing general high schools and 79.5 percent of technical school graduates passed the matura exam, which determines access to higher education.
The results cover exams held in May and June, as well as makeup tests in August.
In written tests, 96.5 percent of general high school students and 93.5 percent of technical students passed the Polish language and literature exam, while 91.6 percent and 83.5 percent respectively passed mathematics, the Central Examination Board said last week.
English, the most popular foreign language, was passed by 96.3 percent of general school graduates and 91.3 percent of technical school graduates.
Oral exams saw even higher success rates: 99.3 percent of general high school graduates and 98.7 percent of technical students passed Polish, while 99 percent and 97.7 percent passed English.
Preliminary results published in July, which covered only the May session, showed pass rates of 86 percent for general high school graduates and 70 percent for technical school graduates, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
