Nearly half of Polish Generation Z women fear visiting a gynecologist and an increasing number turn to chatbots such as ChatGPT to discuss intimate health issues, a new survey cited by daily Gazeta Wyborcza showed.
One in five Polish women reported negative experiences, which contributes to avoiding appointments. Among Generation Z, 49.7 said they are afraid of gynecologist visits, the report said.

The report, titled “Polka u ginekologa 2025” and prepared by Kliniki.pl and research firm SW Research, found that more than half of women born between 1995 and 2012 avoid gynecological visits because they feel embarrassed.

“For many of them this is still a new experience that requires getting used to – from the first examinations and talking to the doctor to the intimate nature of the visit itself,” the survey concluded, according to Gazeta Wyborcza.

Young women also fear that they will not be understood or that something bad might happen to them in the doctor’s office.

Gazeta Wyborcza noted that online consultations with tools such as ChatGPT are gaining ground among the youngest Polish women, with one in five respondents from Generation Z using them to talk about intimate health.

Despite this trend, most women in Poland still prefer to discuss intimate health issues with a doctor – 45.3% of those surveyed – followed by conversations with a friend, a close acquaintance or a family member, the report found.
