The PIAST units and the military MikroSAR satellite were launched into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on 29 November.

The mission, originally planned for 11 November, faced several delays due to weather and technical issues, but Thursday’s launch proceeded without complications.

The payload also included a satellite from ICEYE, the Finnish-Polish company founded by Rafał Modrzewski.

Equipped with a radar capable of imaging regardless of weather or daylight, the system is expected to significantly strengthen capabilities for the Polish military, government and civilian sectors.
