The incident took place on August 12 in Abbadia Lariana, a town on the eastern shore of Lake Como, according to the local news portal Qui Como. The outlet described the rescue as an example of “courage and composure.”

Klag reportedly did not hesitate when she saw the two men in difficulty. She immediately entered the lake and reached them while emergency services were on their way. Thanks to her swimming skills and experience, she was able to bring both men back to the shore.

Her intervention proved crucial. One of the rescued men was taken to hospital and remains in very serious condition, according to Qui Como.

In recognition of her actions, Klag was later received by Abbadia Lariana Mayor Roberto Azzoni. During the meeting, the mayor presented her with a certificate of appreciation, thanking her for her courage and readiness to help.
