Zofia and Nikodem top list of most popular baby names in Poland

Zofia was the most popular name given to baby girls in Poland in the first half of 2026, while Nikodem topped the list for boys, the Ministry of Digital Affairs has announced.

Trailing Zofia among girls were Zuzanna and Maja, while Antoni and Jan rounded out the top three for boys.

Other popular names for girls in the first six months of the year included Hanna, Laura, Julia, Oliwia, Pola, Julia and Alicja.

Among boys, popular names included Leon, Franciszek, Aleksander, Ignacy and Stanisław.

In 2024, Maja was the most popular name for girls, with Zofia close behind.

Nikodem and Antoni also led the list for boys last year.
